Colleen is a self-taught rhythm acoustic
guitarist and singer from Canada. She has
always been interested in guitar since she
can remember [her father- in name only -
Rick Clark (deceased now) used to play
Johnny Cash type music.
Her mother, (who raised her alone) Francine,
managed to put Colleen into only 1 guitar
lesson. That was all she could afford. So
Colleen started working at around the age
of 11, by babysitting, housecleaning (with
her mother) and delivering newspapers and
started buying herself guitar books to try
to teach herself.
Since her brother Eric, who died of Aids
(God bless his soul) just over 4 years ago
now, he has inspired her to live life to
the fullest and to follow her dreams.
Colleen's musical influences began
with Elvis Presley and continues with female
artists such as Lisa Marie Presley, Madonna,
Heart, Sheryl Crow, Melissa Etheridge, Jewel,
etc.
Colleen sings and plays classic rock, new alternative, blues, country, etc... She likes to sing Elvis tunes (including his daughter, Lisa Marie), Jewel, Sheryl Crow, Sarah McLachlan, Janis Joplin, Tim McGraw/Faith Hill, Melissa Etheridge, Stevie Nicks, Dixie Chicks, The Drifters, etc...
Watch for Colleen's release of her upcoming 4 song CD/EP (produced by end 2007 by AOL Records) and released early 2008. Colleen will be on FOX 13 this week on Friday Oct 26th about her songwriting. She won 2007 UK International Songwriting Contest for her song Under Your Spell for Rock/Indie category.
